The 12-year-old Nigerian boy who made a new finding in mathematics.

Chika Ofili, a Nigerian boy has been recognized by the Westminster under the school, London Uk, for putting-forward a new mathematical formula in solving number divisibility specifically of 7.

Master Chika, who is based in the UK received an award at Trulittle Hero awards over the weekend, for discovering the new formula of divisibility by 7 in maths.

Miss Mary Ellis, the head of the mathematics department at Westminster under school who is Ofili\’s teacher, said he uncovered the formula while solving a holiday take-home.

Ellis(Miss) went further to say that, in an educational magazine that she made available a book called \’first steps for problem solvers\’ (published by the UKMT) to study during vacations.

The book had numerous divisibility quizzes that are used to quickly experiment whether a number is exactly divisible by either 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 before you jump into dividing.

The book had no memorable test recorded for testing divisibility by 7…Miss Ellis added.

The young Ofili, nonetheless, had an algebraic proof to back up his newly discovered formula.

The new formula includes taking the last figure of any whole number, go ahead and  multiply it by 5 and then add it to the remaining part of the number to get a new number. If this new number is divisible by 7, invariably, the original number is divisible by 7.
