Hi, my name is Scott Emecho, and I am a proud staff member of Edufun Technik STEM Foundation.
But let me take you back to where it all started.
In 2022, I joined Edufun Technik not as a full-time staff member, but as a corps member serving my NYSC. Like most fresh graduates, my goal was simple, find a Primary Place of Assignment (PPA) that paid well. But deep down, I knew I wanted more than just money. I wanted growth. I wanted skills. I wanted something that would set me apart in this digital world, where just having a degree is not enough anymore.
A Life-Changing First Encounter
I didn’t even discover Edufun Technik through a random NYSC posting. The organization actually came to our NYSC orientation camp and hosted the “Anambra State Tech Hunt.” I was one of the ten winners, and they gave us a certificate and a ten thousand naira cash prize. At the time, I thought it was a government initiative. Imagine my surprise when I later found out that Edufun Technik was also my PPA!
That moment made me instantly admire the organization. How many places will invest in young people even before they officially join? That gesture showed me that Edufun Technik was different.
From Day One: Exposure and Opportunities
In my very first month, I was flown to Lagos for the STEAM Funfest, all expenses paid. That trip blew my mind. While other corps members were figuring out their place, I was already traveling, networking, and learning at a high-level exhibition. My friends could hardly believe it.

But it didn’t stop there. We got enrolled in several courses—graphic design with CorelDraw, video editing, content creation, and more. At first, it felt overwhelming. I wondered how I could manage to learn all these at once.
But our COO, Mrs. Uchenna Onwuamaegbu-Ugwu, kept reminding us:
“No matter how hard something is, it is possible. You just have to find a way.”
That mindset stuck with me. With time, I not only learned all those skills, but I also got good at them.
Leading, Growing, and Building Confidence
Soon, I was selected to join a team that taught coding and robotics to secondary schools. Later, I was asked to lead that same team. Before Edufun Technik, I had never led a group. Managing myself was hard enough, how was I supposed to lead others?
Again, the encouragement came. Our COO emphasized the importance of leadership. She said it was a skill employers look out for, and I took that seriously.
By working closely with her, I grew into the role. I led the team successfully for two years. That leadership experience later played a big role in helping me land my next job. During my interview, the panel was impressed that I had been a team lead, and they said my management skills were exactly what they were looking for.
A Shy Boy Who Found His Voice
Let me tell you something funny about me. I used to be shy, very shy. Public speaking? That was a no-go area. But Edufun Technik changed that. We often went to schools to train students. Sometimes we addressed crowds of up to 400 students. That kind of exposure forced me to face my fear.

Today, I can speak to 1,000 people without blinking. I found my voice. I found confidence.
Why Edufun Technik Is Different
This organization doesn’t just give you a title, they equip you. From tech skills to leadership training, you get tools that will serve you now and in the future. They also offer things that many PPAs don’t; like free Wi-Fi, laptops, solar power, and a hands-on learning environment.
If you are a corps member looking for a PPA, let me say this clearly:
1. Choose growth over quick cash.
2. Choose a place that will help you build real-world skills.
3. Choose Edufun Technik.
The skills I got here, like project management and digital content creation, would have cost me a lot of money to learn elsewhere. But Edufun Technik gave them to me for free.
Life After NYSC
As my NYSC came to an end, I started thinking about life after service. Like many others, I was worried, what’s next? I didn’t want to be one of those who return home and start asking their parents for small money again.
But something amazing happened.
One month before my Passing Out Parade (POP), the COO offered me a full-time role, with free accommodation, electricity, and other benefits. That moment was everything I had hoped for.
Moving On, But Never Really Leaving
Now, I have decided to explore new opportunities, not because Edufun Technik has nothing left to offer, but because life is about seasons. I have plans I want to follow through on.
Still, I remain part of this family. I will continue to attend events, support online activities, and give back in any way I can.
To the COO, Mrs. Uchenna, thank you for believing in me and pushing me to be more. To my colleagues, my fellow corps members, and everyone I’ve worked with, thank you for being part of my journey.
Edufun Technik is more than a workplace. It is a launching pad.
And I am proof of that.
