With 2025 on the go, we take a moment to reflect on an incredible year of growth, learning, and impact. Here’s a look back at some of the milestones we achieved in 2024, all thanks to your unwavering support.
Empowering Young Girls in STEM
We kicked off the year with the fourth cohort of Queen Afrique Academy, a program that introduced over 20 young girls (ages 16-25) to the world of STEM. Through courses in WordPress programming, social media marketing, computer appreciation, and graphic design, these young women gained invaluable digital skills to shape their futures.
EcoArt Competition – Celebrating World Environment Day
On June 5, in honor of World Environment Day, we organized an EcoArt Competition for secondary schools. Students from Saint Charles Secondary School and Government Technical College, Onitsha, showcased creative artworks made from recycled materials and leading important discussions on environmental sustainability.
Coding for Educators with Scratch Foundation
On June 13, in partnership with The Scratch Foundation, we trained educators on how to teach coding using Scratch, a beginner-friendly programming language designed for kids. This initiative is helping teachers seamlessly integrate coding into their lessons, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills in young learners.
A Summer of Innovation and Fun
August was a thrilling month with our Summer Camp, where over 150 kids and teenagers embarked on a journey of creativity and discovery. From building robots to learning computer basics and engaging in arts and crafts, we designed an exciting experience that nurtured their love for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).
Interestingly, on August 17, we proudly partnered with the Anglican Diocese of Nnewi to launch their first-ever Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Digital Innovation Hub at Bishop Uzodike Memorial Seminary. This initiative is a game-changer, equipping young people in Anambra State with essential STEM skills for the future.
A Solar-Powered STEM & Digital Hub for Onono
In November, through the Tech Equity Project supported by Harvard Innovation Labs, we established a solar-powered STEM and digital hub in Onono, a community in Anambra State. For the first time, children—especially girls—gained access to computers, the internet, and essential digital skills, proving that no community is too remote for technological transformation.
Ethics in AI & STEM Education Seminar
December 7 marked our biggest STEM event in Anambra State, the Ethics in Generative AI & STEM Education Seminar, organized with support from ALX Nigeria and the ALX Community in Anambra State. This seminar challenged conventional thinking on AI and equity in STEM, engaging participants in critical discussions about the future of technology.
A Joyful End to 2024
We closed the year with our Robotics Christmas Party, a well-deserved celebration where students, educators, and the Edufun Technik family came together to unwind, have fun, and reflect on an amazing year.
Beyond events, we remained committed to STEM outreach across schools in Anambra State, engaging students, educators, and parents in conversations about the future of education and technology.
Looking Ahead to 2025
This year, we aim to do even more — expanding our programs, reaching more communities, and ensuring that every child, regardless of gender or location, has access to quality STEM education. Thank you for being part of our journey. Together, we’re shaping a future where innovation knows no boundaries.
With gratitude,
The Edufun Technik Team
