Recent Science journals are replete with many examples of how modern technologies are rapidly shaping our world. But the most disruptive of them all is one that is today popularly refered to as Artificial Intelligence.
For instance, experts project that in the next few years teachers will no longer be alone in discharging the duty of training the young generation or the workforce in corporate organisations.
With the advent of ArtificialIntelligence technologies the 21st century classroom has evolved so much so that teachers can now give lectures with an AI-enabled digital projectors, while students can easily follow up a lecture at home online through a video conferencing software, computer or tablets.
Lots of educational tools and processes have been digitized, some of which have also been automated. AI algorithms are now helping educational administrators to enhance the quality of education they provide by collecting, analysing and correlating every interaction that happens in physical and virtual classrooms. They are also helping teachers to address the specific needs of each student.
Though it may have it\’s own side effects to learning, Artificial Intelligence is now by all standards the future of technological innovation particularly in the field of Education, and schools and teachers in especially Africa are being encouraged to embrace it for a smooth, fast, and easy teaching and learning for their students.
In the light of this discovery, many academic and social institutions across the globe, most of which are in Europe and America, have began to tap the huge potential of Artificial Intelligence technology and some other disruptive technologies like Machine Learning, Robotics, and Big Data, in building educational infrastructures, developing and managing their students intellectual resources, and accelerating social inclusion among students of different races, genders, class, religious and cultural backgrounds.
And over few years of such massive advance towards the use of Artificial Intelligence in education, so much progress has been made to the degree beyond which anyone can doubt the disruptive power of this new technology which has now earned the tittle \”The Future Educator\” among educational experts.
